European countries abandon fuel-powered cars

Air and ocean pollution, the disappearance of animals and plants worries everyone nowadays. Nature is an essential part of human, and if it suffers, people also suffer. Humanity is trying to rectify the serious damage inflicted to the environment. But can  we turn back the clock? Can we glue the broken vase together? Only time will show it. Some attempts have already been made by people. The European Union is one of the first who started phasing out the sale of diesel and gasoline vehicles.

About a quarter of Europe's greenhouse gas emissions exists due to transport. Indeed, this is one of the biggest problems for modern countries participating in the struggle for the preservation of the environment. Europe is going to give a siganl to car manufacturers and owners to switch from gas to electric vehicles. The corresponding document was sent to the departments on climate and transport issues in countries such as Denmark and the Netherlands.

In an interview in the American business journal Bloomberg with the Dutch statesman Stente van Veldhoven, there was expressed the idea about  necessary to stop the production of new vehicles on fuel now in order to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2050.

The legislation project known as "Fit for 55",  will include CO2 emission standards for cars and vans. This includes the phase-out of gasoline and diesel vehicles. This is reported by the working group, which includes Austria, Belgium, Greece, Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg and Malta.

The commission has rather ambitious plans. They expect there will not be any fuel-fueled transport in Europe by 2030. Analysts also predict that ,28 million hybrid and all-electric vehicles will be on the road by 2028.
Europe became the center of the introduction of electric vehicles last year. Even more electric and hybrid vehicles were sold there than in China. The increase of sales also connected with the appearing of stricter emission control standards and additional subsidies, which helped companies to overcome the pandemic effects.
